Meals: (-/-/-) • Overnight: Ubud -
Ubud is a vibrant cultural hub, and there’s no shortage of things to do, whether you’re exploring on your own or taking part in one of the many exciting excursions. As the heart of Bali’s artistic and religious life, Ubud offers a unique chance to experience the island’s traditions firsthand. You’re likely to witness a procession or ceremony, with locals dressed in their finest clothes, carrying beautiful flower offerings to honor the gods.
If you're interested in a deeper exploration, we offer a variety of excursions to help you experience Ubud and its surrounding beauty with a knowledgeable local guide. You can take a guided walking tour through Ubud’ charming streets and alleys, where your guide will share insights into the local culture and point out hidden gems that you might otherwise miss.
For a more active adventure, we recommend a bike ride through the scenic highlands that surround Ubud. This leisurely tour takes you through picturesque villages and lush rice fields, offering a glimpse into local life. Along the way, you’ll be greeted by friendly villagers and have the chance to enjoy a traditional lunch in one of the villages. Contact our guide if you would like to join a guided bike trip around the area.
Don’t forget to spend time strolling along Ubud’ main street, where you’ll find an array of arts, crafts, and clothing shops, alongside a fantastic selection of cafes and restaurants. Whether you’re shopping, dining, or simply relaxing by the pool, Ubud has something for everyone to enjoy during their stay.
Meals: (B/-/-) • Overnight: Ubud -
Ubud to Lembongan Island offers a wonderful change of pace as you move from Bali's cultural heart to a peaceful tropical island. The journey begins with a drive to the beach in Sanur, where you’ll board a small ferry for a scenic 1 1⁄2-hour ride across the Lombok Strait. Upon arrival at Jungut Batu, you’ll disembark directly onto the shore - be prepared for your feet to get wet, as the island lacks a formal port. This charming experience highlights how Lembongan’s tourism is more laid-back and less developed compared to Bali.
Lembongan Island primarily attracts day tourists from Bali, so it can feel bustling during the day, but as soon as the last ferry departs, the island calms down, and the cozy restaurants fill with only the overnight guests, like yourself. Upon arrival, locals will arrange transport in open safari busses to take you to your resort, which is just a short walk from Mushroom Bay, one of the island’s most beautiful beaches.
If you prefer to stay closer to the water, we offer an upgrade to a lovely 4-star resort right on the shores of Jungut Batu Beach, where you can enjoy the calm and beautiful Lembongan’s coast at your leisure.
Meals: (B/-/-) • Overnight: Lembongan -
Lembongan Island offers a day of sun, sea, and adventure. You can explore the island at your own pace or go on a guided tour around the island to see all the highlights. As you drive around, you'll pass several beautiful beaches and reach the famous yellow footbridge that connects Lembongan to the neighboring island of Ceningan. It’s fun to watch the scooters skillfully navigate the narrow bridge, weaving pedestrians and cyclists around. Stop by Devil’s Tears, where you'll witness the powerful waves crashing against the rocks, creating dramatic spray.
Another must-visit is the "secret" Dream Beach, known for its pristine beauty—true to its name, it’s like something out of a dream. The island is also a magnet for surfers from around the world. If you're up for surfing, you'll find plenty of surf schools along the beach – perfect whether you're a beginner or looking to sharpen your skills. While there’s plenty of excitement to be had, don’t forget to take some time to relax and enjoy the serenity of your resort. In the late afternoon, we highly recommend heading down to the beach for a prime spot to watch the sunset. It’s a magical moment, and perhaps you'll want to celebrate it with a refreshing drink as the sky turns brilliant shades of orange and
pink.
Meals: (B/-/-) • Overnight: Lembongan -
The journey from Lembongan Island to Nusa Penida is a short, 20-minute boat ride, taking you to a more rustic and less-developed island compared to its neighbors, Lembongan and Bali. Nusa Penida is still new on the tourist map, offering an experience that feels more untouched and authentic.
The island has a rich history, once serving as a penal colony for the Klungkung Kingdom, but thankfully, those days are behind it, and the island now offers a glimpse into a slower, less commercialized Bali. The majority of the population on Nusa Penida is Hindu, and here, you’ll experience a sense of what Bali might have been like before its tourist boom.
You’ll be staying near the harbor and beach, giving you the perfect base for exploring the island over the next three days. With plenty of time to enjoy the sun and unwind, you can take leisurely strolls along the coast, explore the local culture, or venture further inland to discover the hidden treasures of this beautiful, less-traveled island.
Meals: (B/-/-) • Overnight: Nusa Penida -
On Nusa Penida, you'll be staying near Crystal Bay, a beautiful and tranquil spot known for its crystal-clear waters, making it ideal for snorkeling and diving. Here, you can swim alongside vibrant schools of anthias fish in brilliant shades of orange and pink. If you're lucky and visiting between July and September, you might even spot the magnificent Mola Mola, a giant three-meter fish that can weigh up to two tons. For those seeking a deeper underwater adventure, Manta Point is another great spot where you can encounter graceful manta rays gliding through the waters.
For those who prefer to stay above the water, Crystal Bay offers a beautiful sandy beach perfect for lounging under a parasol. If you stay until late afternoon, you'll be treated to a stunning sunset, with hues of yellow, red, and purple painting the sky.
Beyond the water, Nusa Penida is home to some remarkable temples, including the Goa Giri Putri temple located in a cave on the island's northeast side. To reach the temple, you'll climb about 100 steps and navigate narrow passages before reaching the massive central cavern, which can accommodate around 500 people. It’s a serene and sacred place, offering both spiritual insight and stunning views.
After a day of adventure, Nusa Penida provides the perfect atmosphere to unwind. Whether it's sipping a cold local beer or enjoying freshly squeezed juice, a meal with your feet in the sand offers a simple yet unforgettable experience. It’s the kind of peaceful, less-touristy atmosphere that lets you truly relax and enjoy the essence of island life.
Meals: (B/-/-) • Overnight: Nusa Penida -
From Nusa Penida, you'll make your way to the harbor to board a fast ferry for the journey to Gili Asahan, (via Gili Gede) a peaceful paradise located off the southwest coast of Lombok. This untouched gem is a far cry from mass tourism, offering white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a serene atmosphere. The boat ride takes about an hour, and by late morning, you’ll arrive at your luxurious boutique hotel, the Pearl Beach Resort.
As soon as you step off the boat, you’ll feel the calm that envelops this exquisite resort. Surrounded by four hectares of hills and beach, the resort is a tranquil haven where you can unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the island. The rest of the day is yours to soak in the idyllic surroundings, whether you choose to relax on the beach, take a swim in the clear waters, or simply savor the peaceful atmosphere. Gili Asahan is a perfect place to recharge and embrace the serene pace of island life.
Meals: (B/-/-) • Overnight: Gili Asahan -
During your stay on Gili Asahan, you'll be surrounded by the island’s tranquil beauty, where the main attractions are the beach, the sea, and the peaceful ambiance. Here, you can spend your days sunbathing, relaxing, enjoying delicious meals, or simply taking in the stunning surroundings. Whether you're building sandcastles or sharing quiet moments with a loved one, Gili Asahan offers the perfect environment to unwind. Pearl Beach Resort is a true island gem, with four beachfront bungalows and nine garden bungalows, each offering all the amenities you'd need and a private furnished terrace to enjoy the views. For a touch of luxury, you can opt for one of the two luxury villas, which provide an even more exclusive experience. Regardless of your choice, the resort guarantees a memorable stay in a secluded paradise.
The main draw of Gili Asahan is its unspoiled natural beauty. The island is surrounded by a vibrant coral reef, making it an excellent destination for snorkeling and diving. Expect to see colorful schools of fish, sea turtles, seahorses, starfish, and a variety of other marine life. If you’re seeking something on land, you can take a leisurely walk around the island, which takes about an hour and a half at low tide or visit the nearby uninhabited island of Gili Goleng. With only a few tourists visiting from Gili Asahan, you can enjoy a quiet day on the island, perhaps with a picnic on a secluded beach.
Gili Asahan is a place to escape the hustle and bustle, where you can enjoy the simplicity and beauty of nature, making it a perfect retreat for those looking to reconnect with the peaceful side of life.
Meals: (B/-/-) • Overnight: Gili Asahan -
Our island-hopping adventure ends as you return to Bali for the final two nights of your journey. You'll take a scenic ferry ride back to the southeastern coast of the island, arriving in Sanur, often referred to as Bali's friendliest beach town. But Sanur offers more than just a beautiful beach - it's a vibrant village with temples, schools, shops, and a thriving local life.
In Sanur, you'll be comfortably accommodated in a charming hotel just 500 meters from the beach. You're also only a 5-minute walk from the town's main street, where you can explore local cafes, shops, and restaurants. For an extra touch of luxury, you can opt to upgrade to one of our first-class hotels, which sit right on the beach, offering unparalleled access to the ocean and stunning views.
Sanur is known for its relaxed atmosphere, and as your trip winds down, it's the perfect place to reflect on your Balinese adventure. Whether you choose to relax on the beach, explore the town's cultural landmarks, or enjoy a quiet meal by the sea, Sanur provides a peaceful yet engaging finale to your island-hopping experience.
Meals: (B/-/-) • Overnight: Sanur -
On your last full day in Bali, you have the freedom to choose between a relaxing day on the beach or exploring the many experiences Sanur has to offer. Sanur is one of our favorite destinations on the island, known for its relaxed atmosphere. There's a wonderful balance between tourists and the local Balinese community, a true testament to the harmonious coexistence of both. The peaceful main street is lined with fantastic restaurants, where you can try or rediscover the rich culinary specialties that Bali is famous for.
The six-kilometer-long beach has recently undergone improvements, with new breakwaters preserving the sand and a beach club ensuring it's kept clean. As the day fades, the beach and main street come alive with the smells of fresh seafood and grilled delicacies, offering the perfect setting for a sunset dinner.
If you choose to stay close to the beach, you can enjoy a leisurely swim in the sea, read a good book, or take a stroll along the shore. Alternatively, there are several excursions available to make the most of your last day. If you're looking to get more involved in the Balinese culture, consider joining a cooking school in the nearby town, where you can learn to prepare traditional Indonesian dishes. You can even book these excursions in advance to guarantee your spot. Whether you choose to unwind or go on an adventure, Sanur offers a memorable end to your Bali experience.
Meals: (B/-/-) • Overnight: Sanur -
As your time in Bali ends, take one last opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Indian Ocean with a refreshing dip or a peaceful walk along the beach. Afterward, we will take you to the airport for your return journey.
