Board a classic Land Rover 4x4 and leave the main roads behind for a journey through Bali’s rural landscapes. Choose a seat inside the jeep or climb up on the roof, where you can take in the views as you travel through small villages, winding country roads, tropical vegetation and rice fields stretching across the landscape.

Dream of exploring Bali from the roof of a classic Land Rover, from rice fields and villages to the black sands of Pasut Beach? This adventure is for you!

From the roof, you get a different perspective on everyday village life. Look across the walls of traditional Balinese family compounds, where each home has its own family temple, wave to villagers and children along the way, and keep an eye out for some of Bali’s colourful birdlife. You may even spot a Javan Kingfisher near the rice fields. As the route becomes narrower and bumpier, the adventure continues along small jungle roads, where you might find yourself ducking beneath palm leaves and branches, with the wind in your hair and plenty to see along the way.

Halfway through the journey, you’ll stop and take a short walk through the lush jungle to Tibu Sampi Waterfall. Follow the natural trail through the tropical surroundings before reaching this beautiful waterfall, where there may be time for a refreshing swim or dip in the clear water, depending on conditions.

There will be time for photo stops among the rice fields and the opportunity to explore part of the landscape on foot. You’ll also stop at a local family compound, where you can see traditional Balinese architecture up close, hear about daily village life and enjoy Balinese coffee and local snacks.

Drive across the black volcanic sands, followed by lunch overlooking the Indian Ocean

The final part of the journey takes you onto the wide black volcanic sands of Pasut Beach. With the afternoon light, the sound of the waves and the Indian Ocean ahead, you’ll drive along the beach before sitting down for a well-earned Balinese lunch at a beachfront restaurant, located within a beautiful resort. Overlooking the ocean with palm trees in the foreground, it’s a relaxed ending to a day spent discovering Bali from a very different perspective.
