The secret garden adventure at Sambangan unfolds in the tropical jungle of North Bali, fulfilling every adrenaline seeker's dream. Swim in lagoons, try the waterfall slide or make jumps from the waterfalls
Through Cili Travel’s long standing friendships with local farmers, we benefit when visiting a family in their private home. You'll be picked up at the hotel and driven to the first chapter of the adventure, a light hike through paths amid rice fields. Here, we're treated to a cup of locally grown coffee from the surrounding plantations and an encounter with authentic Bali. The journey continues to the Blue Lagoon – a naturally formed pool with striking blue water flowing along the river. Well-hidden, we discover a cave and an even larger waterfall beneath the pool. It's perfect for a plunge into a pond that seems taken from a Jurassic Park scene. Not far from here lies the tallest of the waterfalls in the Aling-Aling area, an impressive one with a double stream and a height of 35 meters. The water cascades down the cliffs and lands in the light blue pool, creating a dramatic mist effect amid lush foliage. The locals consider the waterfall a sacred place, so swimming is not allowed, which is probably wise considering the strong current. A few minutes' walk along the river brings us to the next ring of waterfalls - Kroya, Kembar, and Pucuk. These waterfalls are a paradise for adrenaline junkies and nature's answer to a water park. Here, we can slide from the top of Kroya or make jumps from the other side of the waterfalls. There's even a small water slide for children, where water flows through a smooth crevice. Although the 12-meter-long journey may seem daunting at first glance, it is entirely safe and a truly enjoyable experience. There's even a 12-meter-long water slide journey for the childlike souls, where water flows through a smooth crevice, it may seem daunting at first glance, it is entirely safe and a truly enjoyable experience. Safety is, of course, a top priority, and we follow our Cili Travel guide's guidelines and safety instructions to the letter. We conclude the excursion with atmospheric lunch at a local restaurant, before returning back to your hotel in the late afternoon. |
