This rich cultural blend has given rise to unique traditions, spirituality, and religious practices observed in Bali daily life. We will show you some of the most beautiful heritage temples preserved on the island. Bali has been influenced by Hindu-Buddhist cultures for over a thousand years Take your time to fully experience and appreciate every aspect of your hiking and biking adventure. The tour begins at the Campuhan River, a sacred place where Balinese people often perform purification rituals. We will cross the river and start our hike through a spectacular rice terrace, and a traditional village. We will experience the morning atmosphere of the village and witness the morning activities of farmers as we trek through the village's rice terraces to reach a river valley. We will cross small rivers to reach the first sacred site of the excursion. The place is called Candi 10, and is part of the oldest archaeological site, Gunung Kawi, consisting of ancient shrines carved into the cliffs. Walking through the site, situated along the riverbanks, one feels a sense of calm and silence, and the vibrations from a thousand years of religious practice can almost be sensed. After a lovely local lunch, we'll settle into the bicycle saddle and start the journey to Goa Garba, composed of the words Goa, meaning cave, and Garba, meaning in the womb of the earth. We admire the carvings on the rock wall, designed for spiritual contemplation. Descending into the cave, we walk on a stone staircase where the spiritual ambiance is striking as the sound of dripping spring water surrounds us. From Goa Garba, we continue by bike to Goa Gajah, the Elephant Cave, which dates to the 11th century. Near the cave, there are bathing pools with statues of female figures spouting water. These pools are believed to have been used for ritual purification. Goa Gajah is the last stop on the tour, where our car will wait and gently drive back to your hotel, concluding a day filled with impressions. |
